5 Shows After Dark: There is Too Much TV, Guys

By Genevieve Burgess | Miscellaneous | December 19, 2013 | Comments ()

The Returned 12192013.jpg

The X Factor on Fox at 8:00pm ET. Two hour, third season finale.

20/20: The Year on ABC at 9:00pm ET.

The Returned on Sundance at 9:00pm ET. First season finale. This is yet another one of those amazing shows I’m not watching. I’d pretend I’d get around to it, but let’s be honest it’s probably never going to happen. I mean, it’s in French for god’s sake.

Saturday Night Live Christmas on NBC at 9:00pm ET. How many people are watching this because they enjoy it and how many are watching out of a weird sense of obligation or cultural conformity? You don’t have to raise your hands, just think it silently to yourself.

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding on TLC at 10:00pm ET. Heading into the weeds known as “winter hiatus” these days.

Genevieve Burgess is fine with reading subtitles on movies, but finds them annoying on foreign-language TV shows. She realizes this is absurd.

Are you following Pajiba on Facebook or Twitter? Every time you do, Bill Murray crashes a wedding.

X Factor finale? I didn't even realize it was on. I guess the rumors of its demise are true. Even with the Voice wrapping up last week, there hasn't been any buzz for this show.

i've seen all of the returned and highly recommend it. it reminds me of hannibal in a way. beautifully shot and acted. excellent characters. though it's not for everyone. and i don't mean only because it's in french. for sure it will annoy some.

Watched the first couple episodes of The Returned. It's very good so far.

Singing shows are going to die off soon, right?

You're right that's why I removed a bunch of shows from my DVR list. Mostly procedurals like mentalist, bones, and shows I've grown tired of like how I met your mother and scandal.
