5 Shows After Dark: The Documentary You've All Been Waiting For

Real Housewives of Atlanta on Bravo at 8:00pm ET. I can’t wait until winter hiatus is over and real TV comes back to us.

Sunday Night Football: Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles on NBC at 8:20pm ET.

HBO Special: James Gandolfini: Tribute to a Friend on HBO at 8:30pm ET.

I Am Britney Jean on E at 9:00pm ET. I hope this woman is happy. I realize she’s not shaving her head and bashing cars with umbrellas anymore, but she’s still not legally allowed to control her own finances. Anyway, I know a lot of her fans have been looking forward to this documentary, so enjoy!

Treme on HBO at 9:00pm ET. Even though this says it’s starting at 9:00pm, anticipate a delay because the James Gandolfini special is supposed to be 35 minutes long.

Genevieve Burgess finds the video for “…Baby One More Time” creepier every year.

I had to watch the movie The Sound of Music with Julie Andrews just to bleach my brain.

  • Thanks for the heads-up. I'll DVR I Am Britney Jean and spite-watch it next time Justin Timberlake is on TV (because enough is enough....yes, yes, we get it: singing, acting, you're a one-and-a-half-trick pony).

Oh, he's all kinds of trick.

What did I watch this weekend:

-Man of Steel - I don't know why they need Wonder Woman in the sequel when they have Lois Lane who seems to have as many super powers as Supes.

    -Looper - loved it.

-Moneyball - liked it, but it cracks me up when at the end they state that the Red Sox won their first world series in a million years using Beane's method. The Sox only have the second highest payroll after the Yankees. Ha!

-Rachel Gets Married - honestly I was bored, it was like visiting the relatives.

    -[REC]2 - excellent horror movie

-Reflections of Evil - an endurance test of a "horror" movie. If anyone can stay till the end kudos to you. Keep in mind it was made in 2002.

-Last Dance with Sharon Stone - decent movie.

    -J Edgar - awful movie

-Hell - another good horror movie.

I watched Europa Report and found it mildly interesting and in no way frightening, which was a disappointment. And The Rundown, because you can't go wrong with that movie.

I gorged on Brooklyn Nine Nine and was surprised at how many times I laughed out loud.

I watched Magic Mike. Disappointing. Good for a few laughs with a girlfriend, but we both ended up pretty bored.

I also binge-watched Key & Peele and a cute BBC series called The Cafe.

I watched nothing. Signing up for Obamacare took ten hours. I might have caught the last twenty minutes of Auntie Mame while I was on hold at some point.

In NY State, I have one more day. I was trying tonight, but the site just shut down for "routine maintenance" half an hour ago to my annoyance. I'm just trying to compare networks at this point. I knew I should've printed it all out Friday at the office.

  • e jerry powell

That's what I did. I found the plan I wanted before I started all the hassle of trying to enroll in it.
N.B. The servers for online application processing are down every day between 1-5AM Eastern. As in "leaves your application in incomplete status until the servers come back up" outage. I stayed awake for the whole four hours, fudging things on my profile here and there and still trying to find information on stand-alone dental enrollment (which is not touched on until you are well into the process and THERE"S NO EXPLANATION ANYWHERE).

  • Sara_Tonin00

NY has its own exchange. I was pretty annoyed that they would shut down for maintenance prior to midnight. And that meant there was nothing I could do: pages just loaded with the message "down for site maintenance". Which seemed silly since I wasn't trying to add information - I was just trying to go through what the plans offered, which are pages that shouldn't be changing at this point.

would you believe I forgot to go through today to review and select?!?!?!

(but in fairness, I spent 3 hours at NY DMV today, so I might've reached a limit for bureaucracy)

  • Pentadactyl

Yes! Someone else who hated J Edgar. The only times I wasn't bored stiff by that movie was when it was actively repulsive.

Also agree with the like, but not love, for Moneyball. Generic sports movie, Brad Pitt eating stuff, nice singing by the daughter.

Haven't seen Looper, but have heard great things and it's definitely on my list for the future.

    What I watched this week:

Frozen. I'd already seen it, but was rewatching with company. Once again, it was an absolute delight! Holds up well on rewatch. Jokes were still funny, lots of new little things to pick up on now that I knew when to pay attention. And wonderful songs, of course.

  • Brad Pitt Eating Stuff is a movie I would see. Yeah, I'm predictable. And Looper was great - enjoy.

For a minute I thought you were talking about the horror movie. I was thinking, "I don't remember any songs being sung..."
