America’s Got Talent on NBC at 8:00pm ET. 11th season premiere.

Extinct or Alive: The Tasmanian Tiger on Animal Planet at 9:00pm ET. There’s a part of me that hopes that if there are still Thylacines out in the Tasmanian wilderness that they remain unfound. We, that is to say humanity, don’t really have a great track record with them and if they’ve found a way to avoid us for the last 80 years, I fully support them continuing to do so.

Roots: Part 2 of 4 on A&E, Lifetime, and History at 9:00pm ET. Memorial day travels kept me from watching the first part of this, anyone have initial impressions? I’ve heard it was pretty brutal (which it should be, so not a surprise there).

Maya & Marty on NBC at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. The latest shot at making a variety show “stick” in any kind of meaningful way. I wish them the best, because they both seem like good people, but the whole concept just feels like it’s from a different time to me. Of course, my kids will probably say that one day about TV shows on once a week for a few months in the fall and a few months in the spring, so what do I know.

Person of Interest on CBS at 10:00pm ET. 100th episode.
