Sunday Night HBO is Less Dark, More Rock

Battlebots on ABC at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. The return of the early aughts sensation show that featured robots trying to destroy each other. I can only guess that the robots have improved in the last decade and will destroy each other in new and more interesting ways. Probably still mostly on wheels, though, legs seemed to be the kiss of death in those matches.

Poldark on PBS at 9:00pm ET.

True Detective on HBO at 9:00pm ET. Second season premiere.

Ballers on HBO at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. This stars my future husband, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and I’m looking forward to it because while he is obviously perfect in any way, sometimes the TV shows and movies he is involved in are ruined by things entirely beyond his control. It feels good to see him involved with something that doesn’t yet look like it will make me suffer endlessly for watching it to support him.

The Brink on HBO at 10:30pm ET. Series premiere. I gotta say, it must be convenient that HBO has a tendency to time several of their shows to run together for about two and a half months and then switch all of them. Makes fiddling with your cable bill a little less stressful.

Genevieve Burgess is also happy that The Rock is enjoying Miami, and she looks forward to moving back there with him as soon as he realizes his destiny.
