5 Shows After Dark: I'll Miss the Show's Commitment to Realistic Portrayals of High Schoolers

Inside the Actor’s Studio on Bravo at 7:00pm ET. The guest this week is the cast of Arrested Development, or at least most of them. Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Alia Shawkat, Jeffrey Tambor and Jessica Walter. This was announced by having James Lipton attempt the variations of the Bluth chicken dance, so if that’s something you think you’d like to see, then go here and scroll to the bottom.

The Vampire Diaries on The CW at 8:00pm ET.

Thursday Night Football: Washington DC at Minnesota Vikings at 8:25pm on NFL Network.

Glee on Fox at 9:00pm ET. It’s been announced that next season will be the last season for this show, and while I know many of us aren’t impressed with how it’s been going lately I do respect Ryan Murphy for being willing to put an end date on it even though it probably could have been renewed again. I’m not sure if he wants to put all his energy towards American Horror Story or if the loss of Cory Monteith really ruined their plans for the future, but either way it’s nice to see him giving the show a firm end date instead of just letting it limp along until someone else puts it out of its misery.

Scandal on ABC at 10:00pm ET.

Genevieve Burgess watched the James Lipton video and it looks exactly like you think it will.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

The first season of Glee was sublime. The rest, not so much.

  • Uriah_Creep

Watching that James Lipton video is like the time your old dad got drunk at a wedding reception and tried to do the macarena. Not that that ever happened to me...

  • Salad_Is_Murder

I know, right? It's like, has James Lipton ever seen a chicken!?

Well, Murphy only pushed Nip/Tuck to 100 before he let that go. Perhaps he has a better sense of things than Shonda Rhimes does.

  • Genevieve Burgess

I honestly think "American Horror Story" is the best fit for Murphy. Being over the top is the whole point, and the one season format works really well with his habit of putting the pedal to the floor and then nailing it there.

Very telenovela, right down to the episode count.

  • I will miss Heather Morris.

  • emmalita

Dolphins are just gay sharks. That was the high point of Glee.

  • Britney / Brittany. The only episode I cared about. And I tried. I like singing.

    Elementary @ 10 on CBS!

I've never watched Glee but I did spend four hours in a car with someone who owned ALL OF THE SONGS and played nothing but the Glee soundtrack so I will be toasting its end.

  • Al Borland's Beard

You don't like 'Kidz Bop' for young adults?

  • oilybohunk7

Oddly, no. One time, out of morbid curiosity, I wanted to hear how badly they butchered Heads Will Roll by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs but I accidentally clicked but. Note I get notifications every time they drop a new bomb.

  • Did that trip end with a grisly murder? Because if it didn't, it should have.

  • $3647259

    Well, I wasn't there.

  • oilybohunk7

The fact that it didn't proves that I have amazing self restraint and ability to withstand torture.

  • Miss Laaw-yuhr

Ah, Dante's little known 10th circle of Hell: Glee.

  • bastich

So is the header pic from "Glee", or have the Thursday Night Football halftime shows just gotten more surreal?

  • That's the Vikings new QB. They're hoping the wings will help keep him on his feet and off his back.

  • e jerry powell

Or at least off of his shoulders.

  • $3647259

Still not being cancelled soon enough. I can't remember a show I hated more than Glee.
