If Only Nas Had Put Down the Books And Watched More TV

MTV Fandom Awards on MTV at 8:00pm ET. Sometimes I wish I didn’t know about everything on TV.

Atomic Shark on SyFy at 9:00pm ET. Original telefilm. But sometimes it’s not so bad.

The Night Of on HBO at 9:00pm ET. I understand the format now, but when I heard the title of this I thought it would be an investigation of all the people involved in a crime on the literal night of. Like, we’d follow Nas, but then maybe follow Andrea and see how she got there, and then follow the guys they ran into, etc. But so far it’s interesting, though we’ll see how it goes. Also, I’m continually annoyed by the ubiquity of cop shows on TV, and how everyone in those cop shows seems to have never seen a cop show before. “The police can lie to you?!? The rooms in a police station aren’t private?!? It’s awful that TV never told me any of this as routine plot points on extremely popular shows!”

Preacher on AMC at 9:00pm ET.

Geeking Out: Comic Con International: San Diego on AMC at 10:00pm ET. I’m not going to look this up, but I am going to assume it’s hosted by Chris Hardwick who has somehow become TV’s king of the geeks while we all weren’t looking.
