5 Shows After Dark: Collect Your Rioting Gear, Just in Case

Bob’s Burgers on Fox at 8:30pm ET.

Downton Abbey: Return to Downton Abbey on PBS at 9:00pm ET. This is not the “new” season premiering stateside, but rather a special featuring highlights, a few teaser clips, and a whole lot of speculation about the new season which is particularly dumb when you remember that all of England (and a good portion of American fans) have already seen it. This empty spectacle in the name of a soap opera with uncommonly good costuming and set design will be hosted by the lovely Susan Sarandon, so maybe there is a reason or two to tune in.

Treme on HBO at 9:00pm ET. Fourth season premiere.

The Walking Dead on AMC at 9:00pm ET. Fourth season fall finale. So the consensus is that someone has to die tonight, yes? Get your bets in, characters and manner of death and winners will get… nothing but bragging rights and a way to link to proof that you totally called it. And that’s what really matters.

The Mentalist on CBS at 10:30pm ET.

Genevieve Burgess spent an inordinate amount of time in her pajamas this holiday weekend. It was wonderful.

Those of you who are not watching "The Good Wife" are missing some amazing stuff this season. Josh Charles is fantastic. The number of wonderful actors they manage to cram into each season is astonishing, and this year, the repercussions echo from seasons past. Quality TeeVee.

I mastered sex, thank you very much.

  • Al Borland's Beard

They're gonna kill off Judith with the tank.

  • Three_nineteen

It might not be too bad if they kill off Daryl, because then I would probably finally stop watching.

Go ahead, Daryl. It's OK. Go be with Opie.

Governor wants prison. Takes it by blowing it up with tank. No prison left. OUTSTANDING PLAN YOU LOVABLE CRAZY BASTARD.

  • Maguita NYC

If he wasn't a suicidal bastard he'd have no story line. Sadly.

If there isn't enough gas for cars, how do they gas up the tank?

The average tank gets about 1.7 mile per gallon.

  • Stu Rat

I thought it was 1.7 gallons to the mile.

  • Guest

    You're right.

A M1 (not sure what kinda tank it is the Alvarez drives) uses 1.67 US gallons (6.3 L) per mile.

A total practical vehicle for a post apocalypse world.

Treme, finally, feels like ages since it's been on. I read elsewhere that this season is the last and not a long one at that. Oh, well, it was good while it lasted.

  • Yep. 5-6 episodes to wrap up the series. HBO has moved on.

Gov bites it. Carol, who's been stalking the camp, will appear in her ninja gear and drop a grenade into the tank, then performs a spetsnaz axe throwing backflip into his other eye. Odds: ∞:1

  • Maguita NYC

Logically, it is time for Moses (Hershel) to bite it. But the man has like 9 lives and keeps on surviving no matter the loss of blood and limbs. He's a miracle man alright, and I'm loving his performance this season.

Honestly, as long as Glenn survives I'm good. Although I must admit, am sick and tired of the Governor and would like him to die a painfully long and slow death.

  • Guest

Totes on Hershel, I will be disappointed if they kill him off.

Maggie, Glen, Rick and Hershel (and Darryl and Beth I guess) are the only untouchables for me.

So long Michonne, D'Angelo, Cutty, Carl, Judith, and all you other nameless red shirts.

  • Maguita NYC

What?! You keep Michonne off that list right now! She has been outstanding this season.

I just love how she is showing all that range of emotions and fitting in with the group without being stuck up their asses all the time, just doing her own thing.
