Bonus: Sitcom Children Who Aren't Hellishly Annoying

NBC Special: Christmas in Rockefeller Center on NBC at 8:00pm ET. Lots of musical acts, including Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, Idina Menzel, Pentatonix, someone trying to piss me off by wording a listing as “Seth McFarland featuring Sara Bareilles”, and the queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey, to perform “All I Want for Christmas.” And then the tree will light up. I guess that’s nice too.

Survivor on CBS at 8:00pm ET. Back to back new episodes so settle in for a lot of watching dirty people argue with each other!

Red Band Society on Fox at 9:00pm ET. First season fall finale.

Black-ish on ABC at 9:31pm ET. I caught up on this over Thanksgiving and it reminded me that I really enjoyed it as a sitcom. There’s no mean-spiritedness in the family, and I find that rare. One of the things I always hated about sitcoms like Everybody Loves Raymond was that none of them even seemed to like each other, even a little bit, up until the end of the episode where everyone hugs for some reason. I don’t get that here. It’s nice.

American Horror Story on FX at 10:00pm ET.

Genevieve Burgess firmly believes that Sara Bareilles should not be second billed to a man best known as a profane infant.
