World’s Strangest on Science at 8:00pm ET. Series premiere. I swear I thought this series already existed, but I guess I was mixing it up with any number of other series that love counting down “strange” or “amazing” things around a specific theme that have been running since I was taking sick days from elementary school. And we all get mad at Buzzfeed like they invented that shit.

Heroes of Cosplay on SyFy at 9:00pm ET.

Fargo on FX at 10:00pm ET.

Wil Wheaton Project on SyFy at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. Wil Wheaton is one of those people who seems to have found their own audience through the internet (George Takei is another one) and now he’ll be trying to bring his enthusiasm for all things nerdy to television. The show appears to be modeled on series like Talk Soup with Wheaton in front of a green screen riffing on clips. Enjoy!

The Night Shift on NBC at 10:01pm ET. Series premiere. A new series about the doctors and nurses on the night shift at an ER in San Antonio. I think the commercials indicate that there are the standard ‘sexy’ complication in the staff, but honestly there’s so many commercials for new and returning summer series that I could be confusing it with some OTHER medical drama involving sexy complications. I feel pretty comfortable with the prediction though.

Genevieve Burgess finds very few real-world jobs feature sexy complication. Probably for the best. It seems fraught.
