A New Take on Tut, Which Looks Like Most of the Old Takes On Tut

Welcome to Sweden on NBC at 8:00pm ET. Second season premiere.

Tut on SpikeTV at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. This is a six hour, three night miniseries that dramatizes the life and death of the young king. The cast includes Ben Kingsley, Alexander Siddig, and Nonso Anozie which is impressive, but there some questions as to the overall accuracy of the series. Then again, The Tudors featured a Henry VIII who stayed trim up until his death, so perhaps we just let some things slide in the name of drama and vanity no matter what culture is being portrayed.

True Detective on HBO at 9:00pm ET.

Masters of Sex on Showtime at 10:00pm ET.

Save My Life: Boston Trauma on ABC at 10:01pm ET. Series premiere. This is a reality series that is actually inside a trauma center in Boston and is centered around real cases that come in. So it may be a little intense/graphic for most viewers as these are real people with real injuries.

Genevieve Burgess knows that truly historically accurate dramas would be fairly dirty and poorly lit, and obviously we can’t have that.
