5 Shows After Dark: The Term "Frenemies" Seems Strangely Applicable Here

By Genevieve Burgess | Miscellaneous | September 4, 2013 | Comments ()

“Digfellas” on Travel at 8:00pm ET. Series premiere. The Travel Channel website refers to these gentlemen as “relic hunters” rather than “treasure hunters” to lower expectations, I guess. Really, all this makes me think is that I should have kept up my fake show game for a few more weeks.

“Luther” on BBCA at 9:00pm ET.

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” on FXX at 10:00pm ET. Ninth season premiere. That’s not a typo, this is on a new network called FXX so double check your DVRs to make sure they’re recording the right thing. Because if you’re recording FX at 10:00pm ET you’re going to end up with “The Bridge” and that’s not even a little bit funny.

“The Real World/Road Rules Challenge” on MTV at 10:00pm ET.

“The League” on FXX at 10:30pm ET. Fifth season premiere. It is Fantasy Football season! Which means I have a team I have to continually remind myself to care about even though I regularly forget who’s actually on it (Blood and First Downs, in case you’re wondering) and some other people will say horrible things to their friends based on the actions of men they have absolutely no control or influence over and we all pretend it’s not just a more socially acceptable form of Dungeons and Dragons with athletic competition standing in for 20-sided die. Hooray!

Genevieve Burgess devotes enough mental energy to her Fantasy Football league that she definitely can’t be accused of being the worst player, but not much more.

For the other two people who watch Totally Biased, that premieres tonight on FXX also. I believe it is now on nightly, like a late night talk show. It's a little hit and miss, but I laugh enough to keep watching. Anytime Bell goes out on the streets of New York and interviews pedestrians, it's gold.

  • emmalita

I like Bell. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Totally Biased on 5 nights a week.

  • Maguita NYC

Geneviève, welcome back!!! I did not watch Teevee while you were gone. did not know what to watch. Was very much lost for a full week.

  • Michelle

Oh god, I thought I was just really high (re: font change). So glad to know it's actually happening.

  • Maguita NYC

No. we're high. I was just testing who on Pajiba was also smoking.

    hehe, pass it on.

  • emmalita

Now you are just poking the bear.

  • Maguita NYC

    This bear?

  • emmalita

Oh god godtopus! Is that a honey bear gong? Desecration of my youthful innocence.

  • Mrs. Julien

Don't you condescend to me, man.

  • Maguita NYC

Pffffffft. Chill. here's a pretty one for ya.

  • Byakko

Yay for the League and Always Sunny!

    Boo this FXX nonsense.

  • pumpkin

    Yay! Yay!!

  • lowercase_ryan

Why don't we have Pajiba Fantasy Football?? Like, for real?

  • Maguita NYC

    Or, it'll cost you. Big.

  • lowercase_ryan

    por que no?

  • Maguita NYC

Football this, Futball that, soccer this, soccer that.

You watch your Fantasy football, I'm confiscating all your fantasy pizza! Haha!

  • e jerry powell

I don't really get this FXX thing.

    That is all.

  • *Rolls natural 20 and confirms* Oooohhh that's a critical hit by Champ Bailey against Joe Flacco. He loses 7 yards and 16 HP.

  • zeke_the_pig

Sunny AND The League back at the same time? I must've been a very good pig indeed.

  • SabrinaHatesDisqus

Sunny AND The League AND Luther? I finally care about not having cable.
