5 Shows After Dark: Shout Out to the Browncoats!

"How I Met Your Mother" on CBS at 8:00pm ET. Eighth season premiere. I know so many people who love this show who keep trying to get me to watch and every time I try I get so annoyed with Ted I can't keep up with it. I get that some people can work around that, but I just can't. If the show was about Marshall and Lilly and their idiot friend Ted I'd be on board. Oh, and Barney and Robin can stay. Obviously.

"Monday Night Football: Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks" on ESPN at 8:30pm ET. I'm hoping other cities follow the example of my beloved Baltimore and start inappropriate chants directed at the refs. Especially at CenturyLink which I hear is the loudest stadium in the NFL.

"Partners" on CBS at 8:30pm ET. Series premiere. This is about two friends who work together in an architecture firm but then one gets engaged and the other is in a serious relationshizzzzzzz. Whoa, sorry, I fell asleep there for a minute. Apparently this is slightly controversial because basically the exact same show aired on Fox in 1995 with the same name which does seem a bit foolish. But then, I've never been impressed with people who name sitcoms so why should that change now?

"Hawaii Five-0" on CBS at 10:00pm ET. Third season premiere.

"Castle" on ABC at 10:00pm ET. Fifth season premiere.

Genevieve Burgess Is thrilled to have worthwhile television to write about again. At least for the moment.
