5 Shows After Dark: I'm Going to Apologize for the Pun in Advance

By Genevieve Burgess | Miscellaneous | September 19, 2012 | Comments ()

"Survivor" on CBS at 8:00pm ET. 90 minute 25th season premiere. I've noticed in ads and photos that a lot of the female participants opt to run around in bikini bottoms, which is cool, but it makes me wonder if they're all herded through mandatory waxing before being sent off into the wilderness. Or does filming towards the end of the season get a bit *takes out sunglasses, slides onto face* hairy. (YYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!)

"Royal Pains" on USA at 9:00pm ET. Fourth season finale.

"Big Brother" on CBS at 9:30pm ET. 90 minute 14th season finale. So it's just straight up "large chunks of reality series night" on CBS tonight. Cool.

"How Booze Built America" on Discovery at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. Hosted by Pajiba favorite Mike Rowe. Disappointingly, Discovery has not provided a "drink along" guide to which booze is being discussed on each episode. They should totally hire me to do that. Huge missed money making opportunity in terms of getting kickbacks from beer and liquor brands.

"The Real World/Road Rules Challenge" on MTV at 10:00pm ET. 90 minute 23rd season premiere.

Genevieve Burgess Is thrilled to have worthwhile television to write about again. At least for the moment.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

    Never apologize for puns, Genevieve.

  • YY

My friend from school is competing in the finale of Big Brother tonight.

  • YY

Correction: my friend from school is the winner of Big Brother.
Now, the real games begin as I scheme how to get some of that prize money to myself.

  • Bert_McGurt

As excellent as that show sounds, Discovery missed a golden opportunity by not offering a co-host gig to Anthony Bourdain.

  • e jerry powell

True,. but Bourdain is moving up beyond such vulgarity and into the rarefied air of weekends at CNN.

  • lowercase_ryan

Having a Netflix ad right next to this list is what I call good marketing.

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

They seem to really know their audience.
