5 Shows After Dark: Extra Nerdy Edition
"Manhunt" on HBO at 8:00pm ET. This is a documentary about the hunt for Osama bin Laden featuring interviews with the CIA officers who tracked down him and his associates. The beginning details the efforts of a group called "The Sisterhood", a group of female intelligence agents who were the first to prove the existence of al-Qaeda and identify Osama bin Laden as its leader. So, a much nerdier and less dramatized version of Zero Dark Thirty.
"Family Tools" on ABC at 8:30pm ET. Series premiere. I looked up this show and as best I can tell from the description, the only redeeming quality in sight is that J.K Simmons is in it, playing the sort of gruff character he can probably do in his sleep. I'm far more excited for him to show up on Season 5 of "The Venture Brothers" but I have to wait until JUNE for that.
"Mythbusters" on Discovery at 9:00pm ET. 13th season spring premiere.
"The Americans" on FX at 10:00pm ET. First season finale.
"The Big Brain Theory" on Discovery at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. A new competitive reality series hosted by Kal Penn where teams are given challenges that require scientific and engineering knowledge to win. I'm looking forward to having a competitive reality series on the air that makes me feel intellectually inferior to the contestants as opposed to the opposite.
