5 Shows After Dark: Powerfully Futile
"Frozen Planet" on Discovery at 8:00pm ET. First season finale. The episode is called "On Thin Ice" so I'm sure this about many dire pronouncements about how fragile the arctic eco-system is and the dangers of climate change. You know, more so than they have in every other episode, anyway.
"Masterpiece! Birdsong" on PBS at 9:00pm ET. This is a movie starring apparent devil spawn Eddie Redmayne as a man mourning his lost love amidst the trenches of World War I. His lost love is portrayed by Clémence Poésy who some of you may know from the Harry Potter movies in which she played Fleur Delacour. Should be some good, solid, Edwardian misery porn for those of you who enjoy that sort of thing.
"The Borgias" on Showtime at 10:00pm ET.
"Mad Men" on AMC at 10:00pm ET.
"Veep" on HBO at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. Featuring Julia Louis-Dreyfus playing a Vice President who's struggling with the concept of a position that is both the second most powerful in the country and yet imbued with very little real power (unless there's a tie in the senate!).
Genevieve Burgess does not appreciate your sass. (That's a lie.)
