5 Shows After Dark: Hope You've Got a Netflix Queue Ready for Next Week
"Suburgatory" on ABC at 8:00pm ET. One hour second season finale.
"How To Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)" on ABC at 9:30pm. I guess maybe they thought this show as going to be a mid-season replacement earlier in the spring, because this episode is called "How to Live with the Academy Awards Party" and seems just a touch out of season. Now I'm wondering which ABC series wasn't intended to stick around long past January and ended up making it all the way to March.
"The Americans" on FX at 10:00pm ET.
"Off Pitch" on VH1 at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. This is a reality series about an adult show choir from La Crosse, Wisconsin called The Grand River Singers. NPR has a pretty scathing review, which includes the phrase "This is essentially a cast made up of the kinds of people who give the 'American Idol' auditions that are the hardest to watch - people who love performing, who have just enough ability to dream unrealistically, who will never be stars, and whose hearts break extravagantly every time they are disappointed" which, ouch. I'm also pretty certain this review is better than the show will ever be.
"Southland" on TNT at 10:00pm ET. Fifth season finale. Oh good, so we're going to end up with a TV wasteland on Wednesday nights too.
Genevieve Burgess wants to crawl under her couch in sympathetic embarrassment after reading that review.
