5 Shows After Dark: Hope You've Got a Netflix Queue Ready for Next Week

"Suburgatory" on ABC at 8:00pm ET. One hour second season finale.

"How To Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)" on ABC at 9:30pm. I guess maybe they thought this show as going to be a mid-season replacement earlier in the spring, because this episode is called "How to Live with the Academy Awards Party" and seems just a touch out of season. Now I'm wondering which ABC series wasn't intended to stick around long past January and ended up making it all the way to March.

"The Americans" on FX at 10:00pm ET.

"Off Pitch" on VH1 at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. This is a reality series about an adult show choir from La Crosse, Wisconsin called The Grand River Singers. NPR has a pretty scathing review, which includes the phrase "This is essentially a cast made up of the kinds of people who give the 'American Idol' auditions that are the hardest to watch - people who love performing, who have just enough ability to dream unrealistically, who will never be stars, and whose hearts break extravagantly every time they are disappointed" which, ouch. I'm also pretty certain this review is better than the show will ever be.

"Southland" on TNT at 10:00pm ET. Fifth season finale. Oh good, so we're going to end up with a TV wasteland on Wednesday nights too.

Genevieve Burgess wants to crawl under her couch in sympathetic embarrassment after reading that review.

One of the ad links is "10 Reasons to Hate Gwyneth Paltrow."

Who told them to stop at 10?

  • nixiepoo

Why don't you do a weekly review of 'Southland? It's one of the best shows on tv and noone talks about it! Get on the ball Pajiba!

  • Sara_Tonin00

Ah, that review exemplifies why I donate to NPR.

Now, where I can I donate to get E! off the air?

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

You can donate directly to me. When I accrue one million American dollars, I will commence a violent culling of the leadership to end the network's existence. Or at least cause new executives to come in and do things that aren't horrible.

Like, The Soup is worth keeping. Maybe just put McHale in charge of things; he's everywhere else, anyway.

    sooooooo, Kickstarter or Indiegogo?

“Southland” on TNT at 10:00pm ET. Fifth season finale.".

Keyword hopefully being season finale and not series finale.

TNT better not drop ball and fail to renew it.

Side note: I've fallen a bit behind and I'm not sure where Sherman's relationship is at with the school teacher but the actress who plays her Annie Monroe is stunning. She has always looked like she just walked out of a Mad Men episode.

  • aroorda

I'm guessing it was a toss up to replace don't trust the b and happy endings.

  • sailboat

I hope Shermie gets his shit handed to him by somebody cause that boy ain't right.
