5 Shows After Dark: I Don't Find This Particularly Entertaining

"Deadliest Catch" on Discovery at 9:00pm ET. 9th season premiere. Seriously, guys it's all going downhill from here. Don't say I didn't warn you.

"Don't Be Tardy" on Bravo at 9:00pm ET. Second season premiere. Sometimes I see these reality show listings and think to myself "Jesus, this is what's on television? I could definitely come up with a better concept for a reality series than THAT" and then I go bang my head against a wall until I stop trying to contribute to the world of terrible reality series.

"Storage Wars" on A&E at 9:00pm ET. Fourth season premiere. Like this mess, which is still trucking along after it was revealed that the whole thing is completely staged.

"Chopped" on Food Network at 10:00pm ET.

"What!?: The Long and Short of Body Hair" on Logo at 10:00pm ET.

Genevieve Burgess wishes some of Sunday's excellent TV would move over to Tuesday.

    Um... You forgot Dance Moms.

  • e jerry powell

Nope. There is no such thing.

  • toblerone

    Awkward @ 10 on MTV.

  • Matt C.

    Aw yeah!

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

It's not bad enough that reality television is a thing generally, it has to have spin-offs, too? Most scripted television worth a damn doesn't even get spin-offs.

ETA: And Logo, please, think. You're coming off so gay that gay people are probably wishing you'd tone it down.

  • e jerry powell

Oh, hon, that's not even gay, that's just STUPID. I saw the promo during Drag Race last night, and for about fifteen minutes I was ashamed to be gay. Then the NewNowNext Awards came on and I wanted to hide in a survivalist bunker somewhere until everyone forgot who I was, much less that I was gay.

This is what my people have come to?

  • Bravo, Discovery, A&E - three channels that went the wrong direction. Ugh.

  • e jerry powell

And MTV, the channel that started it all.
