"A Home for the Holidays with Rascal Flatts" on CBS at 8:00pm ET. More of this sort of thing. Meanwhile, in my family, we'll be digging out the DVD recording of the tape of the Alastair Sims version of A Christmas Carol and probably Love Actually for all our holiday needs. I know a bunch of you are A Christmas Story folks. What other Christmas movie traditions do we have represented?

"The Hour" on BBCA at 9:00pm ET.

"20/20: The Year with Kati Couric" on ABC at 9:30pm ET.

"Cheer Perfection" on TLC at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. The first warning sign on this one should be that it's "from the producers of 'Honey Boo Boo'" and the second is that it outright says in the description that it's about women living vicariously through their children which is always SUPER AWESOME to watch and not at all uncomfortable or cringe-y.

"The Real World/Road Rules Challenge" on MTV at 10:00pm ET. 23rd season finale.

Genevieve Burgess is making her list and checking it twice.

Muppet Christmas Carol & Nightmare Before Christmas. The later has my MIL thinking I sacrifice small animals & worship Satan

My husband is huge A Christmas Story fan, but he didn't watch it this year. I actually haven't seen ANY Christmas related stuff this year. I always liked The Grinch (with Boris Karloff) and the Charlie Brown one, but never saw them listed. I also like the Alastair Sim Christmas Carol, but again didn't watch it.

I am partial to the Albert Finney version of "A Christmas Carol," partially because I love the interpretation on its own, and partially because it can almost conjure my dad's spirit. My dad adored this movie, and I can still hear every snicker, every guffaw, even every smile of his when I watch it. I am incapable of separating this version of the movie from my childhood nostalgia.

Anyone else have a favorite holiday movie simply because it's what you watched as a child with loved ones?

No Christmas is complete without a viewing of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

"And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse!"

You see Cheer Perfection is why I wish that asteroid would hurry up and strike us.

Huh. Being subjected to Rascall Flats did it, I didn't even get to the Honey Cheer Cheer listing.
