“Alcatraz” on Fox at 8:00pm ET. Two hour series premiere. Starring Jorge Garcia as an “Alcatraz expert and comic book enthusiast” because apparently J.J Abrams is done pretending he’s doing anything but pandering to the self proclaimed geek demographic these days. Anyway, mysterious murder, lead female with family ties to Alcatraz, Comic Book Guy, shadowy government figure played by Sam Neill, etc. Enjoy!

“Gossip Girl” on The CW at 8:00pm ET. Fifth season winter premiere.

“How I Met Your Mother” on CBS at 8:00pm ET. 150th episode, because that’s important?

“Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl” on NBC at 8:00pm ET. This is 90 minutes, immediately followed by Betty’s new show “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers” which is a hidden camera prank show featuring old people doing the punking. Less “get off my lawn” and more “I’m going to entice you onto my lawn so I can turn the sprinklers on once you’re there.”

“Hoarders” on A&E at 9:00pm ET.

Pookie, I think the sour puss is because the man is in his mid 60's, and his one instance of cinematic fucking (that I can recall), was The Omen III in 1981. Dude gets his anti-christ freak on when he's a young up and comer in Hollywood, and then a 30 year dry spell. That's gotta wear on a fella.

I would've been much more eager to watch had Jorge Garcia wound up on a Damon Linderloff show instead. Abram's may have revived the Star Trek franchise after the worst prequel of all time put it in the ground, but Abram's is not the reason Lost had such great characters.
