5 Shows After Dark: At Least They Make Those Bad Decisions Look Good

"Happy Endings" on ABC at 9:00pm ET.

"The Mindy Project" on Fox at 9:30pm ET.

"Covert Affairs" on USA at 10:00pm ET. Third season finale. So, truth time here, is there a reason to watch "Covert Affairs" beyond the super cute blind guy? Anyone out there know?

"Parenthood" on NBC at 10:00pm ET. Starts a minute past the hour for those of you who want to carefully calibrate your DVRs to ensure you get every last tear you're entitled to out of the episode.

"Sons of Anarchy" on FX at 10:00pm ET. Every time we get to this point in the season arc with this show where everyone's got shit going on and everyone's making terrible decisions and all of it seems to be coming to a head, I wonder how the show will manage to keep all the major players alive for another couple seasons. The answer usually ends up depressing me. But I'm still riding that sort of uncertainty high for now.

Genevieve Burgess is very much looking forward to a tryptophan and pie induced coma later this week.

About Covert Affairs, yes Goram is cute but Oded Fehr is not bad to look at either. I reminisce about Sleeper Cell often while watching. That was really good.

  • F'mal DeHyde

I remember thinking he'd be a big star after seeing his dashing performance in The Mummy movies, then I saw him in a Charmed episode and gave up my hopes for him. He really is gorgeous though.

No love for DTTBIA 23 or New Girl (we get to meet Jess's parents tonight)?

***Spolier: As much as I love JLC it would have been awesome to see Francis Mcdormand play Jess's mom again.

If I listed all the decent sitcoms on Tuesday night I wouldn't have room for anything else. It's a problem. I try to rotate them a bit.

Christoper Goram aka super cute blind guy really is pretty much the only reason to watch the show. Also there is (was? is he still on? I haven't watched it recently) Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also makes good eye candy, but he was always under utilized. The rest of it is straight up CIA Barbie.

Also I feel like this season of Sons of Anarchy has been surprisingly good, they've managed to keep it interesting and suspenseful but without building the plot into a corner it can't get out of with out some deus ex machina that just leaves everyone feeling kind of cheated (like last season.) Though, I suppose I should withhold praise until the season ends...

I only saw the first season of Covert Affairs, but I kept hoping they would reveal that the agency was playing Piper Perabo's character the whole time. Like, they told her she was the bestest secret agent ever because they needed to use her to catch her ex-boyfriend, but in reality, they all knew she was about as stealthy as a bag of hammers falling down some concrete steps. Would have been a much better show.
