5 Shows After Dark: I Don't Think I Have to Tell You What "The Hammer" Is

By Genevieve Burgess | Miscellaneous | October 9, 2012 | Comments ()

"Raising Hope" on Fox at 8:00pm ET.

"Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" on The CW at 9:00pm ET. I realize that basically all of you who would be interested in seeing this have already watched it online, without commercials, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. In case you needed a reason to be happy and then very very sad tonight, because that's what Joss Whedon does best. Super perky and silly to super dark and sad on a dime.

"The Mindy Project" on Fox at 9:30pm ET.

"Ink Master" on Spike TV at 10:00pm ET. This is apparently the second season of this, but I can't remember ever seeing a promo for it before literally last night. Anyway, it's a reality competition for tattoo artists, which seems like the worst place to get a tattoo since you probably have to get what they want you to get and it's done by someone under a lot of pressure. Dave Navarro's hosting, because of course he is.

"Sons of Anarchy" on FX at 10:00pm ET.

Genevieve Burgess Is thrilled to have worthwhile television to write about again. At least for the moment.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • "Everyone's a hero in their own way." CW, even you, more than four years after it was released. How quaint, like a rerun....

  • Mr_Zito

So, how bad is Sons of Anarchy so far?

  • no one

It wasn't sad when Penny died. Not at all ... cause if I can't have her NO ONE CAN!! HAHAHAHAHA

  • Idle Primate

i've somehow never seen dr. horribles. i keep meaning to, and it keeps not happening.

  • BierceAmbrose

    Make the time.

    "Commentary, the Musical" too.

    "It's all about meeeee,
    it's all about meeeeee ..."

  • Green Lantern

Primate, "Dr. Horrible" is VERY worth your time IMHO. It's available via Netflix if you're so inclined.

  • Idle Primate

i dont have netflix; but soon i will have my own dedicated internet again, and give 'er a download

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

    I don't understand tattoos.

  • Anna von Beav

GAH. Stupid The CW and my stupid cable company are having a stupid little bitchfight and ALL I GET IS FOOTBALL NOW.

Luckily, I have Dr. Horrible on DVD.

Unluckily, the season premiere of The Vampire Diaries is supposed to be this week.

  • This is why I went out and bought a digital antenna. Stupid Direct TV doesn't carry the CW in my area, and my request for a waiver was denied. I can't record SPN, but I can watch it as it airs now. And the upside is that I'm considering ditching Direct TV (and cable in general) and getting Hulu prime (or whatever they call it). I'll have to buy Justified and Hell on Wheels by the episode from Amazon, but I can live with that. I'll still save money. The antenna cost $45 and gets great reception, even though I'm 25 miles from anything resembling a city.

  • sal paradise

The same thing happened to me. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this incident until I sat down last week to watch the new Supernatural episode and promptly started cursing my tv

  • Anna von Beav

OH MY GOD that's exactly how I found out! My DVR didn't record it (or so I thought), and I was telling someone at work about it and they told me about the bitchfight.

They had the episode up on the website, like, the next day, though. So at least there's that? I guess? Unforch, that means watching it in my uncomfy desk chair on my computer and having to sit through commercials. BAH, I say.

  • Ink Master was the more sensationalist tattooing reality show. Best Ink was the good one that got actual publicity and good reviews.
