5 Shows After Dark: Porque No Los Dos?

By Genevieve Burgess | Miscellaneous | October 8, 2013 | Comments ()

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D at 8:00pm ET. Watched another episode. Still nope. Sorry, guys, I think we want it to be better than it is.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Fox at 8:30pm ET. Just to mix up the Fox Tuesday night listings a bit. I understand that this is a thing that several of you are watching. Good for you!

New Girl on Fox at 9:00pm ET.

Supernatural on The CW at 9:00pm ET. Ninth season premiere. Oh good, we can start up the ongoing debate about which brother is more attractive. Which really ignores the point that when you’ve got two very attractive men on your screen, you’re the winner no matter what your preference might be.

Sons of Anarchy on FX at 10:00pm ET. I’m finding myself less and less enthusiastic about this season. Maybe because I know there’s an entire OTHER season to go so I really can’t get invested in any story-lines because I’m basically convinced that Sutter’s going to pull the rug out from under me at least three more times.

Genevieve Burgess is pretty sure SoA is going to end up with everyone dead except Unser anyway.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

Finally watched last week's "Agents of SHIELD" after a few people said it wasn't as good as the first one. Maybe not, but I certainly didn't find it horrible. I think maybe we're expecting too much out of a TV show that de-emphasises superheroes in a superhero universe.

'Course when you think about it that's kindof a recipe for failure right there...

Oh and I also watched the first episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". Laughed several times, though it's a shame my wife is already recording a pair of shows in that timeslot. However, Fox DOES have their act together and the episodes are available On Demand, so I should have no problem Sambergin' it.

I haven't been able to enjoy Supernatural since they stopped the apocalypse. That was an absolutely perfect ending to a multi season arc, and they should have not made any more episodes after that.

That being said, Sam and Dean are both so, so hot. So hot. I'd pick prissy bitchface over ducklips though, if forced to make a choice.

  • Vivianne ValdeMar

Bwahahaha! Had to upvote, for the "pick prissy bitchface over ducklips" part, even though I, personally, would never!

  • llp

    More ducklips for you!

Even though Dean and Sam are totally beautiful and I adore them both, Castiel just walked straight into my heart and stole it

  • I enjoyed the lingering camera in the laundromat scene. Also, Cas trading in the suit and trench for water is a lovely little parallel to Cas walking into the water in season 7, but there will be no coat for Dean to fondle afterwards.

  • I was talking with my co-workers last night about TV shows and they were giving me shit for watching 'Supernatural.' I'll admit that it's totally a CW monster soap opera, but I'll also admit that I don't care.

  • Nothing wrong with monster soap opera, especially when it is as fun as Supernatural can be. Also, best blood-spatter team in the business, Dexter notwithstanding.

  • ZbornakSyndrome

Completely. But I'm putting in a good word for Cas as the hot "adopted" brother.

  • phofascinating

    Word, girl. Word.

  • IngridToday

    Agreed! I don't just don't think Sam's is attractive.

I also hate his hair, every hairstyle he's had as been terrible.

  • hippyherb

And he is whiny, with a whiny face and whiny voice.

  • Fredo

Finally bailed out on Supernatural last season. It was enough.

We'll always have season 1-5, but that's enough.

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

I don't think I'd have necessarily minded the aimlessness they've engaged in since season five, if they'd maybe said it was pretty aimless. You avert the apocalypse, probably shit isn't going to be quite so epic anymore, but they insist on pretending like it is anyway.

Oh, and also if the show had commenced transparently contradicting what had been up to that point a really well designed, internally consistent mythology.

And also if it had kept up the funny. They found it a bit more last season, but before that? Yeesh.

  • F'mal DeHyde

I'll continue watching as long as they want to continue filming that lovely cast. And I actually enjoy the writing of course.

  • Fabius_Maximus

    Arrow's on, too.

  • Xikar

    That's tomorrow.

  • Fabius_Maximus

Damnit! I thought they'd revive the double feature.

  • Maguita NYC

No say it ain't so! I suddenly had hope for Tuesday nights.

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

I have learned to stop being ashamed of my liking of Arrow. It took a long time.

  • Ben

oh rad, completly forgot ti was comming back
