5 Shows After Dark

By Genevieve Burgess | Miscellaneous | October 10, 2011 |

"The Sing-Off" on NBC at 8:00pm ET.

"Monday Night Football: Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions" on ESPN at 8:30pm ET.

"Five" on Lifetime at 9:00pm ET. This is a collection of five short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on people's lives. There's been a lot of promotion that says "directed by Jennifer Aniston" but light research indicates that she only directed the segment "Mia" starring Patricia Clarkson.

"Bored to Death" on HBO at 9:00pm ET. Third season premiere. I hadn't realized that enough people watched this show for it to get three seasons. Hell, I wouldn't even have guessed that enough people realized this show existed for it to get a third season on the basis of name recognition alone. Well, nice to see that Jason Schwartzman's keeping busy anyway.

"Enlightened" on HBO at 9:30pm ET. Series premiere. Starring Laura Dern as a woman who experiences a massive breakdown and returns from her treatment center with a new outlook on life, which causes problems with the people around her.
