If you’re a huge fan of “The Wire,” then you’ll now understand what it’s like to have a birthday twice in a month’s time. We debuted hh’s fantastic “The 100 Greatest Quotes from ‘The Wire’” video here a little less than a month ago, and since then, it’s been seen over on YouTube more than 260,000 times.

Still, despite the massive popularity of the video, many fans of “The Wire” who have seen it have cited several omissions —the show is so good that, despite the fact that only 60 episodes exist, 100 Quotes wasn’t enough to satiate many of the show’s fans …

… and so we bring you the sequel. “Another 100 Quotes from ‘The Wire.’” What’s particularly remarkable about this video is that, as you’re watching it, you’re thinking to yourself, “How did these quotes not make the first list of 100,” before you revisit the first video and finally understand why.

The show is that good.

We’ve devoted enough copy to the show over the last half decade (even making it our Top Show of the Aughts), so I’m just going to shut up now and let you bask in the genius that is hh’s “Another 100 Great Quotes from ‘The Wire.’”

Fans of this video might also want to check out hh’s other contributions, including the original “100 Greatest Quotes from The Wire,,” “The Other 100 Greatest Movie Quotes of All Time,” Cinema’s Top Human Villains: The Video, and Wall-E: The Cannibal Years.

I love hh, not only because he rocks at editing, but also because all this time you guys were talking about The Wire I thought you were talking about The Shield. The lack of bald white cop in the videos made me realize that The Wire and The Shield are two different shows.

Overall the first compilation is far better. But I'm not complaining. This makes me want to watch all five seasons again, at the same time.

That's awesome Sofia, because there are so many damn cop shows on that I get them confused too. It's so bad that now when they need a new show, they just set it in a new city (Las Vegas, Miami, New York, etc). I miss the days of good comedies. Also, hh does rock at editing.

Did anyone else feel like this video could use a laugh track? Watch it again and imagine a audience reaction after some of the quotes. It's frickin' hilarious.

Though, for the record, there is also a bald white cop in "The Wire."

I'd like to thank hh for sharing his talent and all this hard work of his.

Goodnight, hoppers!

Amazing job - and I'd bet you could probably get another 100 or so decent quotes out this series.

I'll never forget the day I was watching this show and realized that the police and the major corporation I work for juke the stats in the exact same way. That's what makes this show the best - it shows you the truth.

The shit was unseemly!

*claps*

Thank you!

@TSF Thanks for that. That made my day. It was really hard trying not to laugh at work.

Posted by: Peanut_Butter_And_James at December 2, 2009 5:39 PM

That's awesome!!! More Bodie, yeah! And a lot of great quotes I had forgotten about... it's amazing how many great moments The Wire had in only 60 hours.

But I still think there's almost nothing from Season 4! There was a bunch of awesome quotes from Bunny Colvin alone! And a lot more on the classroom-scenes! So I'll be waiting for The Other Other 100 Great Quotes!

Congratulations and thanks to hh for making us experiencing this awesomess again!

That was just more perfect than perfect.

The Wire should be subtitled "The Great American Tragedy."

Amazing job once again.

Thanks HH.

Thanks for doing this; it's so hard to explain to people who haven't seen the show how very very awesome it is, but I can post a link to this and say 'See! I told you!'.

Posted by: Jami at December 2, 2009 7:39 PM

Also, I still get 'The Farmer In The Dell' stuck in my head, and it makes me smile. . . that's hard to explain to non-Wire-watchers.
"I robs drug dealers." hee.

Good shit. Plenty of other shows for this treatment too. Deadwood heads the list.

Really fucking bravo.

This just made my week. I love the Wire with a fiery, fiery passion. I forgot how much I loved the scenes between Omar and the Malcom X look alike. Classic.

yes, yes, a thousand times yes.

Love the last words montage, especially the inclusion of Snoop.

I would really love to see something like this for Veronica Mars, and for a ton of other shows for that matter.

This was just great though, glad to see a lot of my favorite quotes made the cut this time around.

Posted by: Sean at December 3, 2009 12:43 AM

I really need to watch this show.

Posted by: Manda90210 at December 3, 2009 1:59 AM

My computer hates Vimeo so I can't watch, but the first video was fucking great.

I'm spreading it around, hoping to spark interest for others.

I truly believe "The Wire" is head and shoulders above any other television ever produced. My biggest problem with it was that I started watcing it on DVD before the final season was released, so there was about a month lag between Seasons 4 and 5.
I turned to massive quantities of alcohol and valium to take the edge off of the anticipation.
Well, no; not really. But it was a long damned month.
I was already familiar with alcohol and pharmaceuticals in large quantities.

I found a HOTTEST interracial club ===MixedConnect--*__*--C om====for black Women and white Men, or black Men and white Women, to interact with each other. Interracial is not a problem here, but a great merit to cherish!

Posted by: flaky at December 3, 2009 11:21 AM

Spambot, or 'Flaky', it's a pity that quote didn't make it to the Wire 100. A great merit to cherish indeed.

Posted by: SingItFromTheMuffinTop at December 3, 2009 12:58 PM

There really isn't anything to watch after finishing the Wire, is there?

Posted by: Wren at December 3, 2009 5:04 PM

Omar LIVES !
