Last night’s Game of Thrones delivered one of the best episodes of the series run, and at the very least, the best episode of this season, so far. It saw the reunion of Sansa and Arya (eh), the reunion of Arya and Bran (*shrug*), growing chemistry between Jon Snow and Khaleesi (nice!), a glorious sparring match between Arya and Arya and Brienne (Yes!) and a dragon take on the Lannister army (HOLY SHIT!). The last battle, perhaps more than any other moment in the series, left the rooting interests of viewers divided between Jaime and Bronn and Daenerys and her Dragon (although, some folks cared only about the dragon). It was an intense showdown that seemed to wipe out all of Jaime’s army, and perhaps even Jaime himself.
Twitter, which had its collective heart in its throat, reacted according to the final, heart-stopping ten minutes of the episode. It was fun night to be following along with the show on social media. I actually have two Twitter lists that I follow: One for politics and one for entertainment, and it says something about the universal appeal of Game of Thrones that the political list was just as active — if not moreso (Jake Tapper!):
