Hafþór “Thor” Björnsson aka Game of Thrones’ The Mountain, aka *Spoiler…swipe ahead to see: The Red Viper Head Squasher and Killer (*sob*) was up until recently the strongest man in Iceland and the second strongest man alive. Now he’s also Europe’s strongest man. Competing in Leeds, England, Björnsson took first place in three events: Forward hold, lifting Atlas stones and deadlifting reps.

Not only does he make those tasks look easy - he's a fucking showman whilst doing it.

Can we just talk about how that last contest was moving filled kegs into some guy's pickup truck? I wonder if that was just something the organizers needed to have done that day, so they made it a competition...

"For the next round, the competitors are going to move a double-recliner couch and a La-Z-Boy out of my apartment, bring them down three flights of stairs, put them in the back of the moving truck, drive with me to my new apartment, and carry them in through the back--being careful not to knock them into anything--and put them over against the window. CAN WE GET A ROUND OF APPLAUSE?"

Coincidentally, the next tournament is taking place in my very own courtyard and includes the new cellar-clearing challenge...
