Wonder Woman opened up a fantastical world with an immediately iconic portrayal of Diana of Themiscyra by Gal Gadot and proved to all the haters that yes, duh, of course a woman could anchor a superhero franchise. When Wonder Woman strode across No Man’s Land and into the hearts of many, most fans left the theater already psyched for a sequel. It was only a matter of time before Wonder Woman 2 was greenlit with Patty Jenkins once again at the helm, because nothing that immediately beloved and successful was going to be left as a standalone feature.

Add in Pedro Pascal (a suitable beefcake replacement for the second best Chris) and Kristen Wiig as the villainous Cheetah, Wonder Woman 2 is already shaping up nicely. Well, prepare to get even more excited, because Lynda Carter, the OG Diana Prince, might be coming aboard. She told Megyn Kelly (ugh, I KNOW):

“That is up to [director] Patty Jenkins. I’ve been talking to her about it. She’s given me some hints about it and I guess it’s up to Warner Bros if they want to spend the money… It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way, it’ll be great fun and it’ll be wonderful to do.”

Yes, that is all quite vague and a bit noncommittal, but come on. Spend the money, Warner Brothers. Wonder Woman is quickly becoming their only viable DC franchise at this point, so they should probably just throw money at Jenkins and trust her to make something great.

Now, if they could find a way to bring back Robin Wright, I would forgive any and all handwaving they’d have to do over her resurrection. Antiope was taken from us far too soon.
