I Just Can't Look Away

By Daniel Carlson | Posted Under Comment Diversions | Comments (145)

casino_de_niro.JPG

I have hundreds of cable channels and watch maybe four with regularity. This leads to a lot of random surfing in hopes of catching something good, which happened when I stumbled on Casino the other day. It was well into the movie — Ace and Ginger were already married, but she was still a good way off from blowing Nicky for protection — but I knew I was going to watch it till the end. For me, Casino isn’t just a great movie; it’s one I have to finish if I start watching it, from any point. Some movies are just like that. They’re more compelling than others, and no matter how many times you see it, you can’t help but watch again.

So that’s what I’m looking for. What movie, if you come across it on TV, do you just have to finish watching? It can be a great film or a terrible one; it can be a premium movie channel or a hack cable outfit that dubs over the expletives and stretches a two-hour film over three. Doesn’t matter. What are the movies you just can’t help but watch to the end?

A Knights Tale

I have no good reason for this...

Posted by: AES at June 3, 2010 4:06 PM

Almost embarrassed to admit it.... Encino Man. In fact, I am watching it now after stumbling across it on Cinemax about 20 minutes ago.

Posted by: ashes at June 3, 2010 4:08 PM

The Replacements with Keanu Reeves.

Oh god. I think I've said too much.

Miss Congeniality

Posted by: Nimue at June 3, 2010 4:08 PM

Also, Fried Green Tomatoes but that is legit. I think that may be everyone's "can't look away" movie.

Posted by: ashes at June 3, 2010 4:10 PM

God this is embarrassing, but here goes.

The Notebook.

There I said it. I'm a guy and I enjoy The Notebook. I'll occasionally find myself watching it only to turn the channel quickly when I realize my roommate is putting his key in the front door. I think I'm just in love with Rachael McAdams.

Posted by: Dangerous Dave at June 3, 2010 4:11 PM

Anything with Myrna Loy and William Powell in it, or Cary Grant (drooooool).

Posted by: BWeaves at June 3, 2010 4:16 PM

Ghosts of Mars.

Yes, I'm serious.

No, I'm not taking any medication.

No.

No, I do not want the number to a good therapist.

Yeah, well Natasha Henstridge is in it, so blow me.

Posted by: superasente at June 3, 2010 4:16 PM

Princess Bride - I've easily seen it 100 times by now.

Posted by: benjiep at June 3, 2010 4:18 PM

Resident Evil and Clueless. Amazingly enough, for completely different reasons.

Posted by: longcoat000 at June 3, 2010 4:18 PM

I always always sit through Ghostbusters, Coyote Ugly (DON'T JUDGE), Fried Green Tomatoes, and either of the first two Aliens.

Posted by: Julie at June 3, 2010 4:18 PM

AES, because the end of Knights Tale is AMAZING?

Empire Records, though it's never on.

And...shit...others but nothing that comes to mind right now. Akira. I have to see Akira through, every time. And Paprika.

Mostly because they're trippy as hell.

OH And The Fall. *sigh* The falll

There Will Be Blood. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, everything stops.

That and Showgirls.

Big trouble. Yesh, I lurve that movie!

Casino has the same effect on me, Daniel. For some reason, I never catch it from the beginning.

Monsters, Inc. (including the end credits)
The Hangover

There are quite a few movies I always have to watch if I stumble across them - sadly, most of them are terrible.

1) Masters Of The Universe. I don't know what it is about this movie - maybe it's Frank Langella's scenery-munching turn as Skeletor. Maybe it's the eye-rolling 'comedy' moments like ginger-alien-dwarf Gwildor using a futuristic grappling hook to steal fried chicken. Maybe it's Dolph Lundgren's perma-glistening torso. But whatever it is, whenever I stumble across this movie on TV, I'm in it for the long haul.

2) Flash Gordon. This one's easy to explain - I adore Brian Blessed. If I ruled the world, I would install Brian at the White Cliffs Of Dover, there charged to greet the incoming ferry from Calais with a heartily-bellow "WELCOME!". Also, Timothy Dalton is great in this. Don't argue. I won't listen.

3) Hard Target. I actually own this one on DVD, mainly as a result of my John Woo worship, yet if I see it on the telly, it's staying on. Jean Claude Van Damme in dodgy hair extensions playing a down-and-out Cajun sailor called Chance Beaudreaux? Lance Henrickson as a piano-playing millionaire who organises human-target safaris for bored rich people? Arnold Vosloo as shotgun-toting henchman Van Cleef? I'm there.

I'm sure there are more...

Back to the Future.
Any of them, but especially the first one.

Galaxy Quest.
By Grabthar's Hammer, it gets better every time I watch it.

Posted by: Commander Strikeher at June 3, 2010 4:20 PM

I get that way with Goodfellas. AMC has a tendency to play it quite a bit. If I'm flipping past, it doesn't matter what point it's at. It will remain on.

Have to agree with Princess Bride. Also, Raising Arizona.

And I have both of these on DVD, so it's not like I couldn't watch them any time I want to.

Posted by: Wednesday at June 3, 2010 4:23 PM

Casinoone of them for me. It was always on TV somehow--every weekend I knew there was a 90% chance that it'd be playing somewhere. I know that movie like the back of my hand.

The other great one is Sense and Sensibility.

But here's the embarrassing confession: I will watch any disaster movie to the very end. Any. Twister, The Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day (my favorite), Dante's Peak or whatever, I will watch that bitch all the way through. I can't explain it, but the worse the better. Sometimes I'll even sit through Armageddon, for crying out loud. I can't wait for the tv stations to get 2012. All-day marathon on FX!

There are many such movies. Many.

Though the one that seems to come up the most is Gone In 60 Seconds. The Nic Cage one. It's a horrible movie, but I can't stop watching it. Ever. A lot of that probably has to do with a wild, sexy blonde-dreaded Angelina.

Another one that's been popular of late is The Road Warrior. There is no shame there. That movie is awesome.

That Thing You Do
Troy

I hate watching movies on TV with the commercial interruptions and all the good parts edited out. Why on Earth would anyone watch a movie that they really like in this format?

If a movie fits the criteria of 'no matter how many times you see it, you can’t help but watch again.' then I would probably buy the DVD. And if I have the DVD, then why on Earth would I feel compelled to watch it on TV?

... and yet my wife and her family will do this all the time. I can't even count how many times I've found them zoned out in front of a movie we own only to be jarred (by the absence of a favorite line or the intrusion of some godaweful pet food commercial) into realizing that they are watching it on TBS, or even worse, ABC Family. Why?!? You won't commit to walking over to the DVD shelf and putting the real movie on and yet you've spent the last 45 minutes watching this edited abomination?

So if I get sucked into watching something on TV it is probably because it was so bad that it wasn't worth renting and yet my channel-surfing curiosity gets the best of me and I decide to check it out (Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer or Resident Evil or some other such mindless popcorn flick that the aforementioned wife has vetoed from the Netflix queue). If it's a movie I like then I am going to want to watch the actual movie.

I wish I could say it was one of those great, critically acclaimed movies that's beloved by everyone, if not always on the forefront of their mine...But no. I have to watch Enchanted every time it's on.

Posted by: Jeremy Feist at June 3, 2010 4:48 PM

I agree with everyone who said Jurassic Park. My boyfriend had never seen it, so we watched it on Friday. He shrieked when the raptor appeared behind Ellie, it was so worth it.

Add Wayne's World and Bad Boys to that list. I am a slave to them.

Posted by: Julie at June 3, 2010 4:52 PM

Yeah I'm going to have to add Jurassic Park and Predator to my list. I just love them.

Posted by: Dangerous Dave at June 3, 2010 4:58 PM

Any of the first 4 Rocky movies, any Alien, Aliens, Predator or Alien vs. Predator. Also, any Jane Austen movie (except that Keira Knightley one--refuse to watch that one), Princess Bride, Airplane, When Harry Met Sally. I'm sure there are more but those immediately came to mind.

My husband will watch any Clint Eastwood movie any time. I like some of Clint's stuff and he was a tall drink of water in his younger days, but sheesh I don't want to watch him every fucking Saturday.

When I saw the title of this post I first thought it meant movies we haven't finished. Example: I only got about a half hour into The Matrix. Possible future diversion or have we done that one already?

An American In Paris. Not my favourite Gene Kelly movie, but damnit once I see it on the telly, that's me for however long it's on.

The Crow
Man on Fire
Aliens
Heat
Empire Records

The Crow and Man on Fire - because I love a great revenge movie (or avenging someone).

Aliens and Heat - because apparently I'm a teenage boy trapped in a woman's body. I love it when there is shooting and shit is blowing up.

Empire Records - I have no explanation for this one. Maybe it's the music. Or mabye it was that Renee Zellweger was tolerable in this movie.

Posted by: Shu Shu Fontana at June 3, 2010 5:06 PM

"Casino" is a great movie. Really fucking long, though, so if it starts at 1 AM and I have to be at work the next day, sorry, I have to turn it off.

I usually watch "Resident Evil," "Alien" and "Aliens" all the way through if I happen to catch them and there's nothing better on (and there usually isn't, at least in the case of the last 2). And last night, I watched "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider." Twice. I'm not proud of it, but not really ashamed, either. I like that movie. Stuff explodes, Daniel Craig is naked, Lara Croft lives in a really cool castle/mansion. Whatever. Judge me, I don't care.

And if "The Thing" (starring Kurt Russell) is ever on, you better believe I'm watching that shit all the way through.

Posted by: Slash at June 3, 2010 5:06 PM

Good point, admin, I suppose the circumstances change if you are talking about premium channels without commercials.

Posted by: Yossarian at June 3, 2010 5:08 PM

I also have to complete Showgirls, but only if it is on a cable channel with commercials and editing; I can click away otherwise. But something about having to draw on a bra so we can see the main character kick the ass of a bad guy kills me. I must watch that scene and therefore will sit through the entire movie and the commercials.

Posted by: Morgan LaFai at June 3, 2010 5:08 PM

Posted by: lainiefig at June 3, 2010 5:13 PM

Movies?

None.

This dude cannot abide.

I work at a broadcast television station, in Master Control, and as such, I am exposed for the entirety of my 12-hour shifts to the evils of commercialism.
I DON'T want to deal with that shit when I get home.

Oh... I will watch an episode or three, once I get home, of episodic TV (Bones, ST:TNG, as limited examples), but movies? NO FUCKIN' WAY!
DVD/BD or NOT!

Lately it's been Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Same here. "You sound like your from London!"

Posted by: jM at June 3, 2010 5:16 PM

I'm sure there are many where one of us says, "I just need to hear ____ say ____." These elements are noted in parentheses .

Sophie's Choice (Sorcha, your intelligence is pulp. Pulp.)
Good Fellas
Galaxy Quest (Look around, can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe? )
Waiting for Guffman (Corky's private dance session)
Hobson's Choice (the slap)

And then we are pretty much glued to the couch until it is over.

When I first met Mr. Julien, we were getting ready to go somewhere and The Odd Couple came on TCM. We didn't say a word, we both just sat down on the couch. It's moments like this that let you know he's the one. And moments like another visit when we woke up and I said, "there's banana cake in the kitchen" and we both sprang from the bed to run and eat some. Movies and gluttony. It's a match made in heaven.

Easily Shawshank Redemption. Every time TBS or TNT plays that damn movie the rest of my Saturday is ruined because I have to watch that movie until Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins embrace on the sand.

Also, another Morgan Freeman movie, Seven, is one that I always feel compelled to finish. It's such a good, strong ending.

I'm a longtime lurker and only occasional commenter, but I had to chime in on this one.

Remember the Titans

I can't explain it, but whenever I stumble across it on TBS or one of the other cable channels, I can't help but watch it all. It's addicting.

Posted by: Emily at June 3, 2010 5:51 PM

Goodfellows, Godfather I and II, and Ghandi.

I'm really screwed when I see a Band of Brothers marathon. I own the box set, but still can't help sitting down for several hours of episodes.

Posted by: LwoodPDowd at June 3, 2010 5:52 PM

I know it hasn't made it to basic cable yet (I don't think,) but The Dark Knight is already one of those movies for me. Tons of my friends own it and I've watched it, or portions of it, with all of them. I can never say no to that movie. I think I've seen it 7 times or something already. All the way through. That's not counting "stumbled into the room mid movie and didn't leave" viewings, of which there are many.

When I've grown old and tired and annoy my grand kids with how much I think I know, I hope this movie comes on TBS every afternoon at 4 so I can watch it while I eat my dinner. If I start to go senile, even better. I'll watch it every day and get that face kicking endorphin dump all actions flicks promise and few deliver. When he speeds off into the night and the credits roll I'll be so overcome with joy that I simply void my bowels in jubilant ecstasy. Hopefully we've invented something better than adult diapers by then. I don't wanna have to stew in it. I'll do it, but it won't be enjoyable for me personally, more like a final act of spite. A few more "fuck you's" before I fade.

There is SO much nuance lost from that movie when viewed on commercial TV.

Posted by: Rykker at June 3, 2010 7:57 PM

The Devil Wears Prada, Clueless, Independence Day, Jurassic Park, The Harry Potter movies, Dirty Dancing, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady. I could probably think of more if I tried...

Posted by: kel at June 3, 2010 8:01 PM

I regard it as my manly duty to watch The Road Warrior to the end any time I run across it on TV. And I think I may have seen the very beginning of The Blues Brothers perhaps once, but I know I've seen the ending dozens of times. It's probably no coincidence that both films end with legendary vehicular chase sequences.

Posted by: Peter Lynn at June 3, 2010 8:09 PM

Apocalypse Now (redux)

The Departed - weirdly, this movie is played regularly on the History & Showcase networks (in Southern Ontario, at least). Must be almost a dozen times by now.

Posted by: oskar at June 3, 2010 8:15 PM

Serenity. Shut up, haters.
Remember the Titans. At this and Serenity I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME. Even though I've seen each of them like 90349p83 times.
The Princess Bride. Duhhhhhh.
Pride and Prejudice. But only the BBC version. Because I have both it and the novel practically memorized and because it's the best book-to-movie adaptation out there.

Posted by: esme at June 3, 2010 8:33 PM

Oh, crap. I read through every comment on here hoping my selection wouldn't make me look like a FREAK, but no one else has mentioned this: "Bring It On". If I tune into "Bring It On," I am there through the final showdown routines. Every. Single. Time.

Great, now my testicles are suing me for divorce.

Posted by: Craig at June 3, 2010 8:35 PM

Well, mine have already been listed, but here they are, or at least the ones I could think of

Showgirls (dude, it's even more hilarious with painted bikinis)
The Craft
10 Things I Hate About You
Bring It On
Starship Troopers

And YES, I have them all on DVD, and watch them pretty regularly. There's just something old-school comforting about watching them with the editing and commercials, like all is right with the world. It's still turning on its axis, you know?

Posted by: Anna von Beaversmack at June 3, 2010 8:38 PM

I'm pretty sure I didn't see these movies listed already and for that I am very disappointed! ROADHOUSE & TOMBSTONE!! I used to make fun of hubby for watching until I watched a few mins and saw Sam Elliott and then I was like, mmmm damn.
These go in spurts of being on every cable channel for months and then disappearing only to come back a few months later and I can use the excuse, 'oh look your movie's on...no no, its ok, sure you can watch it. No, I'll watch with you, I don't mind at all.'

Posted by: beautifulgirl at June 3, 2010 8:39 PM

A Few Good Men
Jurassic Park
Star Wars
The Empire Strikes Back
LOTR - all of them
Back to the Future Parts 1 and 2
Godfather, Godfather Part 2
L.A. Confidential
Saving Private Ryan

Honestly I could list 20 more, but I'll spare you.

Posted by: Coltrane at June 3, 2010 8:52 PM

Casino; Goodfellas; The Departed - there is a theme here...

Posted by: Christi at June 3, 2010 8:59 PM

It's funny, but until someone mentioned Empire Records I wouldn't have though of it, but then I realized I really do watch until the end every single time I catch it.

Also: Say Anything, The History Boys, and Pride and Prejudice (at least up until the part where Mr. Darcy helplessly stutters, "I lo.., I lo..., I LOVE you." mmmm.)

Posted by: Heather Mooney at June 3, 2010 9:10 PM

How does anyone on this thread ever manage to leave the fucking house? These movies are on ALL the time.

And, yes. I did watch Band of Brothers again this weekend. And part of the Stars Wars marathon. Like I do every time. Thanks for asking.

Posted by: greer at June 3, 2010 9:28 PM

Skipping the Video Quicksands already mentioned, and there are MANY:

Osmosis Jones. No, I cannot explain this, and my shame is great.
Serendipity, see above.
The Abyss, more explicably, because Ed Harris is the shizz.

@Dill the Devil, I cannot say WORD loud enough to echo your enthusiasm for Brian Blessed and your plan to install him at Dover; and in his honor:

"Scorn...and defiance, slight regard, contempt and any thing that may not misbecome the mighty sender, doth he prize you at. Thus says my king." --Exeter, Henry V.

Posted by: Salieri2 at June 3, 2010 9:43 PM

Stranger than Fiction, and the Big Sleep.

Posted by: Basil at June 3, 2010 10:06 PM

Greetings, No country for old men does it for me. Some movies are like eating junk food. No country.... is like eating a good authentic Italian meal. All of the ingredients are in perfect ballance and it leaves me satisfied. The scene in the gas station with the old man is worth the price of addmission!

Posted by: Bob Gould at June 3, 2010 10:07 PM

I don't watch Bring It On, but I have seen Bring It On: All or Nothing about fifteen times. I'm compelled to watch until the point where the love interest says, "Dude, I'm going to beat the dude out of you." Cracks me up every time, that somebody got paid real money to write that line, and somebody else got paid to say it with an earnest expression on his face.

Plus, the sass runneth over in that movie. It's kind of astounding.

Posted by: Wednesday at June 3, 2010 10:14 PM

king: check, check and check.
Mrs. Smith: the original "The Women" is da bomb.

For me (and I don't know why): Father of the Bride.

Posted by: malechai at June 3, 2010 10:47 PM

Aliens, even when it's edited to hell on basic cable and lasts 3 hours w/ all the commercials.

Posted by: stryker1121 at June 3, 2010 11:04 PM

The Big Lebowski

Do you see what happens, Larry? DO YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENS when you FIND a STRANGER in the ALPS?

Posted by: JrFanBoy at June 3, 2010 11:08 PM

Miller's Crossing
LA Confidential
The Big Lebowski
The Godfather I and II
Cool Hand Luke
Cold Comfort Farm
Shadow of a Doubt
The Philadelphia Story
The Sound of Music

I have all these on DVD, but it doesn't stop me.

I also watch Sopranos reruns for hours at a time, and watch Band of Brothers whenever it runs. Even though I own the DVDs.

Posted by: ak at June 3, 2010 11:52 PM

Patton
master and commander
The Maltese Falcon
Casablanca
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Uncle Buck

Yup Uncle Buck. When he punches the drunk clown I laugh every time.

Dont judge me.

Posted by: logan at June 3, 2010 11:55 PM

How has only one other person said The Shawshank Redemption?
ABSOLUTELY: The Shawshank Redemption

Also, Blade Trinity & Catwoman because it's ridiculous that they even get shown on TV and they're just the right kind of terrible way to waste a rainy Saturday.

Posted by: geekchicohio at June 4, 2010 12:01 AM

One movie. Plain and simple.

A Few Good Men.

Don't know how many times I've seen it and don't want to.

I also own it. That should be another comment diversion: what movie are you compelled to watch to the end on tv DESPITE the fact that you own it?

Posted by: citizen_cris at June 4, 2010 12:07 AM

Rykker... 12 hour shifts, you must be at a larger station? I work in master control, but we do about 8-10 shifts with no actual break. Do you just work less days per week?

It used to be Terminator 2, but for some reason that has gone. I'd have to say Gone in 60 seconds is the most recent example, but thats not really a thing now either.

Posted by: e at June 4, 2010 12:22 AM

The Fifth Element
Clue
Goodfellas
Aliens
Princess Bride (quoting all the dialogue, much to the annoyance of anyone else in the house)
Slither
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Posted by: trixie at June 4, 2010 1:08 AM

Mannequin.

Any cheesy 80s movie, really. Especially if there's dancing or bad music involved. Or Andrew McCarthy.

Posted by: MyySharona at June 4, 2010 2:15 AM

Back to the Future (ANY)
Love Actually
50 First Dates
Billy Madison
The Waterboy (Yes, shut up, three sandler films...)
Spiderman
Clueless
Mean Girls

Yep....

Posted by: Camilla at June 4, 2010 3:31 AM

Agree with some of the ones already mentioned:
The Princess Bride
The Fifth Element
Resident Evil (any of them!?)
Uncle Buck

Add Pulp Fiction and Usual Suspects too.

Posted by: Lizi at June 4, 2010 6:34 AM

The ones that go without saying:

Shawshank Redemption,
Rudy,
Slapshot

My personal faves:

Trainspotting,
It's all gone Pete Tong,
Snatch,
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

(Yes, I watch alot of IFC)

Posted by: Danny Smooth at June 4, 2010 8:01 AM

*Jaws
*Alien
*Aliens
*Casino
*Cape Fear - old or new one
Interestingly enough we ALWAYS manage to turn to the EXACT same part.

Posted by: blacksred at June 4, 2010 9:17 AM

Planes, Trains and Automobiles -- if it's on, I'm watching it. And everytime it makes me laugh and it makes me cry. I miss John Candy.

Posted by: Lizzy at June 4, 2010 10:18 AM

Hm, I forgot about Armageddon. also, to clarify, when I said Bring It On, I meant any of the series (I only have the first one on DVD, though). Same goes for Blade.

I picked up The Fifth Element on DVD, though, and now every time I come across it I put in the DVD.

Posted by: Anna von Beaversmack at June 4, 2010 11:04 AM

Training Day...

You wanna go to jail or you wanna go home??

Posted by: East Coast Ugly at June 4, 2010 1:50 PM

Totally blew my mind that Shawshank made it nearly 2/3 of the way through the comments before getting a single mention! That is EASILY the "can't stop watching" movie for me. That and Ghostbusters 1 or 2. Though those are my favorite movies period.

Posted by: RyanH at June 4, 2010 5:40 PM

Fifth Element

Armageddon

Face Off

Con Air

The Rock

... yea, basically cheesy and in some instances shitty action movies.

Posted by: Mick J at June 4, 2010 6:04 PM

I am so glad to hear I'm not the only one with this horrible (awesome) affliction.
The first to spring to mind/culled from other people's lists:

Shawshank Redemption
Contact
Galaxy Quest
Deep Impact
Drop Dead Gorgeous

Posted by: BiblioGeek at June 4, 2010 7:57 PM

My apparently unshared shames:

- Patriot Games,
- The Patriot,
- My Cousin Vinny,
- Rising Sun

Previously mentioned:

- Starship Troopers,
- Roadhouse,
- Tombstone

They have a power over me better movies and movies I like better do not. The house could be on fire, and I'm stuck in the comfy-chair until Sean Connery explains to Wesly Snipes how Jack Ryan suckered the British regulars with Marisa Tomei's help. Then, Johnny Rico, shirtless, rips out Johnny Ringo's throat & rides off with Dana Delany and at last I'm free.

God, I hope none of these are on right now.

Posted by: BierceAmbrose at June 4, 2010 10:53 PM

Well, late to the party, as always. Most of these have already been mentioned, but there's at least one new one:

Tremors (I can't believe no one has mentioned it yet--I love this movie!)
Aliens
10 Things I Hate About You
Jaws
Hitman
The Princess Bride
Sense and Sensibility
Emma
(the one with Kate Beckinsale as Emma)
Cold Comfort Farm
Tremors II: Aftershocks
The Day After Tomorrow
Independence Day

I own four of these, so I'll usually come to my senses before too long and pop in the appropriate DVD, but for the others I'm at the mercy of the networks/cable channels. I guess I should really buy at least the first three on the list, just to avoid all those commericals...

Posted by: ariadne at June 5, 2010 1:04 AM

Bring It On and its dire sequel Bring It On: All or Nothing.

I am helpless. I have to watch all the way to the big cheerleading showdown. I'm glad to see that others here share my affliction.

It's very rare to run across it, but Heathers is my other must-watch.

Posted by: Melmo at June 5, 2010 1:50 AM

Good Fellas
Silence of the Lambs
Aliens
Top Secret
Resident Evil
Pump up the Volume
True Romance
Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown
Natural Born Killers

Posted by: carmensandiego at June 5, 2010 5:33 AM

oh, and The Shining
and The Birds

Posted by: carmensandiego at June 5, 2010 5:37 AM

kinda late, but its saturday night and im bored (may have gone a lil crazy online shopping and payday is oh so far away so a night out is not an option) so here i am. im looking at my dvd shelf and there are so many movies i own that i watch on tv all the time and have watched maybe once on actual dvd. Dazed and Confused, A Knight's Tale, Don Juan DeMarco, Can't Hardly Wait, Empire Records... then ones I don't own but sit through on TBS at least twice a year: Forrest Gump and 50 First Dates. No idea why but if I'm flipping through channels and either one is one, that's it for the rest of my day. I am not moving til it's over. Oh and Bring it On sucks me in everytime. Be aggressive, B E aggressive!

Posted by: kaizee at June 6, 2010 1:23 AM

Blue Crush.

The Wedding Date. (so help me I do NOT understand why but I park it anytime I catch it while channel surfing)

Point Break.

Dirty Dancing.

Princess Bride used to be high on the lsit but I guess I reached burnout.
