It's Spam Pajiba Night

By Dustin Rowles | Posted Under Comment Diversions | Comments (116)

spdadsfadsfam.jpg

This evening space — which is normally alloted to Mr. Robert Scott, who is otherwise preoccupied this week — is usually devoted to videos, comment diversions, or other frivolous matters that we hope keep y’all engaged overnight. Unfortunately, videos of the viral variety are lacking this week. It’s a miserable interregnum between summer blockbusters and the fall slate of movies and television, but alas, it’s a period that will finally come to an end this Friday with four new releases!

So, tonight, I want to do something a little different. Those of you who frequent the comment section know that — like many other websites — we get spammed. We have spam filters, but some of those comments get through anyway, as the spammers’ artificial intelligence increases. We’re fortunate that many of the readers like to fuck with the spammers, often with hilarious results.

Anyway, tonight, I give everyone who reads this post his or her own opportunity to spam us. Take advantage of the bored passers-by looking for something to click on. In the comments section below, I give you free rein to provide hyperlinks to annoying videos, songs stuck in your head, your blogs, your Facebook page, your Twitter account, your favorite websites, merchandise that you’re trying to unload, a Craiglist listing, a donation page, etc. etc. etc.

To add a link, you can just copy/paste the url into the comment, or if you want to get fancy about it, you can create a hyperlink:

hyperlinks.jpg

Just replace the url in between the quotation marks with your own, and replace “My Facebook Page” with your own description.

I’ll start:

I don't know why, but recently this song has been on constant repeat for me, I can't stop listening to it. Perhaps as movie lovers, you will enjoy as well. I love Go . . . I have it on DVD, and I have the soundtrack on CD. For some reason, in recent weeks, this insatiable urge has arisen . . .

So my husband and I have a Stupid Blog. It's a collection of pieces that have so exemplified the epitome of modern human stupidity that we personally would have exploded had we not had an outlet on which to unload these gems. It's cathartic, really. The blog is highly partisan, and I only partially apologize for this. But I'd like to think that liberal or conservative, we can all come together in agreement that these people are too stupid to give the appearance that they belong in polite society. Oh, and I stole one of JFeist's Pajiba Love column pictures too, without credit. No one else besides us has seen this yet, because we're still in a little disbelief that we have a Stupid Blog.

A'ight, Lennon... the aggro-indignation you came off with the other day made me wanna jump in my truck and run over your bike-ridey ass just out of pure spite for the threats you made. Not that I actually would, but the Jack Russell-like attitude definitely sparked the dream sequence in my head in response.
(I give bikers a wide berth and much respect on the road, even (grudgingly) the wobbly ones who can't ride in a straight line, even though their life depends on it, who have no fucking business even being on a bike at all , much less on a busy road.)

But that poem was cool, so I apologize for the momentary desire to turn you into a hood ornament.

Walk For Jackie

On her 25th birthday, my friend Jackie discovered a lump in her breast. It turned out to be cancer. Several weeks later she had surgery and is now undergoing chemo. She is on leave from her teaching job, which she intends to return to in November, head wrapped in bright scarves to remind everyone that it is possible to stay strong and overcome. I can think of few things better to teach those kids.

On October 17 her parents will be walking in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk to be held at White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield, Ct. If you can take a moment to donate to her cause, I'd appreciate it.

Breast cancer is is my family as well, and my Aunt Pat is battling it every day. But few things make you feel more invincible than youth, and seeing my friend, my own age, battling this horrible disease...there are no words. Help the fight.

Posted by: KatSings at September 16, 2010 8:23 AM

Just an afterthought. If you're a bartender and you gave a man a plate of chicken and he had a hand under the table and appeared to be working it, just so you know, he wasn't.

Posted by: Howard. H. Howitzer at September 16, 2010 9:28 AM

Thanks a bunch guys, I appreciate it!

@Rykker - I was aiming more towards making you chuckle than anything. I'm hyper defensive about bikers but I wouldn't actually ever key someones car or slice a tire. I've chased a handful of people down at red lights and given them a good finger shaking but thats about it. Glad you enjoy the poem :-)

If it is the first kind, what you do is actually: create an account on Blogger. Go ahead an pick a template. It isn't going to matter. Stick to the directions onscreen until you get to where you can start dinking using the blog's settings. Click on "Template." Now, here's the actual tricky bit: you are going to be looking at a screen full of code. Read through it until you see a tag that says . Begin selecting the signal, and keep highlighting it until you visit a tag that reads . Don't close your own browser window, although! Now, copy exactly what you've highlighted as well as go to your web page editor, like Notepad or even Dreamweaver or whatever. Open up a sample page out of your already-created web site and save it as blog.html code or whatever. Right now, wherever you want your blog content to appear, insert the code you've copied into your web page code. Right now, read through the code, and, if you find something that references a sidebar, delete it. Save your document and preview it in your browser. You are going to see a bunch of strange code in your document. That's normal because it isn't uploaded to your site yet. Go through the code one more time, checking for code references to things you do not want. Now, highlight all of your code in your web page file, and then go back to your Blogger theme. Select ALL the code there, and insert in your new signal. Save your settings, however don't republish yet. Now, go set your FTP settings, your archive configurations, etc. Once you are finished with all of that, go make a test publish. Publish it. Then, view your blog. It will look like your web site. If anything looks screwy, go mess around with the signal in the template section until it looks right. And, I can not stress this enough: make sure all your configurations in Blogger are correct. It can mess stuff up in a big way.

Dear biorobots! Fine website and of course content, even though not everything is working in the correct way! But that is up to the administrator to fix… Anywho, if you want to learn more about relationships, etc. you might want to test this nutty site I found yesterday. This organization states that if you really would like to find your other half you must look at those people who have a birthday on the exact same date as you yourself. They have lots of interesting info on their internet site which relates to this including demo info and stuff. Weird but what if they are right.

Posted by: birth date at December 19, 2010 9:39 PM

Good day friends! Top notch website and content, even though not all of it is working in the right way! But oh well as that is up to the website owner to take into account… Anywho, what I decided to share is this web page I recently stumbled upon that claims that real compatibility is possible with people born on exact same day of the year as you, since everyone born on exact same day are essentially the same! It sounds like a bunch of numerological crap to me, but I checked out a few of their demo videos and some of the descriptions correspond to those people that I know. I agree that their English accent could be better, but hey, if they really have done their research and have proof this potentially could totally change our lives! Take a look, people.

Posted by: leap year at December 19, 2010 9:41 PM

Dear friends or so I hope! Great site, regardless of the fact that not all of it is functioning correctly! However that is up to the admin to fix… Anywho, if you want to learn more about compatibility with others, etc. you may want to test this scientific internet site I was forwarded yesterday. This organization claims that if you really would like to find your soulmate you must look at people who have their birthday on the exact same date as you yourself. They have tons of interesting info on their web page that relates to this as well as demo videos and stuff like that. Test it out.

Posted by: birthday calculator at December 19, 2010 10:02 PM

How is it going biorobots? Fantastic site and content, in spite of the fact that not everything is functioning in the proper way! But hey that is up to the website owner to deal with or not… What I wanted to share is this nutty new concept, which does seem a bit weird but might help those who are like me struggling to find true love and intimacy. This science lab states they have done a bunch of research and found out that the most compatible people are those who were born on the same date. The only reason why I think they are on to something here is cause their description of those people born on the same date as me is totally right on. This is very weird. Take a look maybe you will find it interesting too.

Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they plainly don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
