If you ever find yourself in the Hudson Valley in New York, and you wander into “Samuel’s Sweet Shop” and you think you see Paul Rudd or Jeffery Dean Morgan minding the shop, you’re not hallucinating, it’s probably them. (Or maybe you are hallucinating, you know yourself better than I do, but if that’s the case, the lizard people in the corner aren’t real, and Paul Rudd probably is. Please consult your doctor as this is not medical advice. I’m just a concerned citizen, friend.)

This is not new information, they’ve owned the shop for a few years now, but it’s new to me and I feel the need to spread the word of this delightfully gentle celebrity-adjacent anecdote because it’s worth a smile.

How did this all come to be? Let Papa Winchester explain it in his own words, but it won’t make any more sense. Maybe it will, I’m not personal friends with Paul Rudd. Perhaps this is what he does with all of his close buds?

So far, this is the only business that I know of that Paull Rudd and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have swooped in to save, but who knows if it will be their last? Maybe there’s a model train store in Hoboken, New Jersey, that they’re eyeing right now?

If celebrity-owned businesses are your bag, you’d probably like this article from Architectural Digest, where I discovered the Rudd/Morgan partnership. It includes Joan Cusack’s boutique in Chicago, where apparently she personally responds to many emails the shop receives. Please use that information for the power of good, and not evil—her store looks delightful.

You can also find out details on the boutiques Monica Potter, and Phoebe Cates, own respectively. If you’re in Austin, Texas, and are a huge Miss Congeniality fan, you can visit Sandra Bullock’s flower and gift shop, because why not? I can think of a worse way to spend a Saturday, can’t you?

This has been your benign update of celebrity-owned businesses. Please share any Paul Rudd anecdotes in the comments below.
