It’s always amusing to hear who might have played our favorite superheroes. At one time, Leonardo DiCaprio was considered for Spiderman, a couple of directors wanted Will Smith as Superman, and Tom Cruise (an admirable RDJ ego contender) came damned close to being Iron Man. But never mind those losers; instead have a laugh as Jude Law talks about his own close call. Brett Ratner had designs on the reboot following Superman Returns, and the director tried his best to entice Law, who went so far as to try on the suit alone in a bathroom. After experiencing that magical moment, and to protect the world’s children, the actor decided he was no Clark Kent.

I’m a little sad he didn’t take a selfie, but Law was adamant about that private moment: “I saw myself. No need for the rest of the world to see me.”
