Here’s this week’s box-office breakdown: An assload of people paid to see Megamind ($47 million), a crap load watched Due Date ($33 million), and a goodly number saw For Colored Girls ($20 million). Bunches are continuing to turn out for Red ($8.8 million; $71 million cumulative), while $8 million worth of movie goers who must have been exceedingly bored watched Saw.

Fair Game debuting in only 46 theaters made a somewhat respectable $15,000 per theater, for $700,000, while 127 Hours, which opened in four theaters, made an outstanding $66.500 per theater in mostly sold-out shows. Four Lions, the terrorist comedy, kind of fizzles, grossing only $5,600 per theater in eight locations.

The $155 million in movie grosses overall also represents the biggest opening weekend in November of all time, surpassing the $153 million in 2003.

My husband & I went to see the first showing of Due Date on Saturday morning. The line for Megamind was INSANE. And it wasn't little kids--the average age had to be 13 or 14. I swear, there were more teenagers waiting at that theatre than attended my high school.

The weather finally turned cold. The night comes faster now. So the options for entertainment out of the home start dwindling.

For some reason Fredo, your comment sounded like the opening of a children's christmas book to me... I have no idea why.

Are you guys going to review For Colored Girls?

Are you going to do a review for Megamind? I loved that movie a bit too much for my own 27 year-old good.

Two for "The Social Network." We're a little slow.
